Marilyn Monroe!

Otra de mis aficiones aparte de bailar es el Inglés. Con 5 años empecé a ir a una academia llamada  Dundee School  y el año pasado terminé todos los cursos.

Pienso que hoy en día el Inglés es imprescindible y te abre muchas puertas. Aquí os escribo la biografía de Marilyn Monroe en Inglés para que leáis su interesante vida de una manera diferente y muy útil. Espero que os guste :)

I am going to speak about Marilyn Monroe because I think that her live was very interesting and intense.

She was born in 1926 in Los Angeles. Her true name is Norma Jeane Mortenson.

Her childhood  was very difficult. She was living in orphanages and she had to overcome the death of her only protective , the agent Johnny Hyde. Her mother Gladys Monroe suffered mental problems and her father´s name is unknown.

Marilyn Monroe was the main icon of the Hollywood´s glamour. Her immense attractive conquered the world but in spite of her seductive beauty, she was more than a sexual symbol in the 1950.

She started her career like a model but she was always interested in the film´s world.

In 1946 she was contracted by 20th Century-Fox with a salary of 125$ a week.

Her first role in the cinema was in the film "The Shocking Miss Pilgrim". The film that really made her famous was ¨ All About Eve¨ .

Marilyn married three times: the first with Jimmy Dougherty when she was only sixteen years old; the second with the baseball´s star Joe DiMaggio in 1954; and finally with the dramatist Arthur Miller in 1956, but their marriage only lasted five years. She became pregnant three times  but she had three miscarriages.

She has appeared in 30 films , some of them are: ¨As young as you Feel ¨ 1951,

¨ Gentlemen Prefers Blondes ¨ 1953, ¨ How to marry a Millionarie¨ 1953, ¨ Bus Stop¨ 1956,  ¨ Some Like it Hot ¨ 1959 etcetera.

In  1955 Marilyn Monroe Productions was créate. It caused a lot of conflicts during a year with the FOX. During this year she studied drama with the master Lee Strasberg.

In 1960 she started to visit the psychiatrist Ralph Greenson because of the adiction to barbiturates.

In 1962 Marilyn sang the famous ¨ Happy Birthday¨ to John F. Kennedy  in the Madison Square Garden.

In the same year she was proclaimed "World's Most Popular Star" with the giving of the Golden Globe,

The 4th  of August  1962 Marilyn Monroe died in her home while she was sleeping because of an overdose of barbiturates, when she was only 36 years old.
